I love moving from winter into Spring - coming out of the darkness and into the light. I know with some of the restrictions easing everyone is using Spring as their stepping stone for (hopefully) an amazing summer.
It's so interesting seeing how make up has evolved from the heavy war paint foundation, the slug eyebrows and over bronzing to this more fresh, dewy skin, with the thicker natural brow and tinted lips and cheeks.
Not only is this the new make up 'trend' but I feel it is a shift in mentality of embracing what you have and not hiding yourself. I won’t lie - I’m guilty of layering on my double wear to make sure it was super matte and didn't show any of my natural skin as I wasn't happy with it and to be honest I liked how it looked as well. Over the past few years I have tried to invest more in my skincare and aiming for the perfect even complexion with that amazing glow and I have seen a difference in my skin and I've learned to love my face more (I sound ridiculous, I know). I still get horrible angry red spots across my jawline but now I know how to deal with them and now I don't get absolutely devastated when one appears. I am really enjoying embracing my natural skin and I can see this trend not budging anytime soon!
Check out Spring Make Up Trends you won't want to miss out on. One thing I have always loved in my make up looks is colour! Whether that be a bold lip, strong eye - and even both, I enjoy seeing people playing with colour in their looks. I know there was a period where we all went very Kardashian and it was all about the more neutral colours but now colour is definitely making a comeback and I LOVE it!! Even the looks from Fashion week showed the explosion of the blue lids, bold lips and smokey eyes for days. This year definitely had a lot of statement looks for us to take inspo from.
